About us
40% of Rhode Island employers do not offer retirement benefits.¹ RISavers helps bridge the retirement savings gap.
Our mission is to empower workers to establish and increase retirement savings through an automatic, low-cost, trusted retirement plan benefitting Rhode Island workers, employers and taxpayers.

Save for a more financially secure future
RISavers was passed by the Rhode Island General Assembly and signed into law by the Governor in 2024 to promote individual retirement savings. The Rhode Island Office of the General Treasurer is sponsoring the workplace retirement savings program for employees who do not otherwise have access to a retirement savings plan through their employer. Employees will be automatically enrolled in a Roth IRA Account. Once enrolled, the account will be funded from an employee’s wages unless the employee opts out.
